Junior Kindergarten

Junior Kindergarten at Jordan Christian School is a great introduction to school life. JK runs three days a week in the mornings only, so the students are bussed in with the others and then picked up by parents at 12:30. For students ready for a full day, Jolly Kinders is an optional afternoon program. Together with the Senior Kindergarten, students adjust to routine and begin to learn the concepts of social behaviour through play and seated learning. Most importantly, they are introduced to a Christian-based curriculum which will guide them throughout their school years at JCS.

A spring craft

A typical day in JK includes a routine of circle time where they learn about the calendar, weather, and counting days. An introduction to the alphabet and numbers through workbooks and worksheets is also included in each day, as well as daily Bible stories and memorization of Psalters and hymns. In addition, there is a time of centre learning where the students have the opportunity to be creative using Lego, Play-Doh, paint, and craft supplies. The students are also given time to play in the home centre, in the sandbox, or with blocks and cars.

September admission to our JK program is open to any child who will turn 4 years old before December 31st of the same year.
